Overall price
I would say the overall price would be around $1600 to $2000 dollars. Gm parts direct killed me on the shipping cost. You can save money by doing the install yourself, but thats only if you know what your doing. Most people would say making a custom turbo would be better.

Price is right around $2000 total if you install yourself going through GM Parts Direct. It just depends upon how much boost you want. If 10 psi or under just go with the S/C to save the headach but, if ya want more boost go turbo. If there are any question about the S/C ask and I will do my best to answer them.

NoSweat is right. Basically if you want to go turbo you will have to keep boost levels really low in order to not blow up your engine. The gm supercharger puts out a low level of boost that is safe to use with a stock setup. The reason I went the supercharger route is its a gm product that has been tested and has been proven to work. Plus gm will service the supercharger. On the other hand a custom turbo may give you better overall performance but there is no telling what its going to do to your engine.
By the way Nosweat I like your car. I wish I had the quad 4. That is a really sweet setup you have.

Ya, my costs were $1579 shipped for the kit, and I guess it'll be $100 for the reflash.

I thought the Ecotec could take the GM Supercharger as well but supposedly no reflash from GM. Or am I mistaken?

Alerocharged07: Thanks for the props. What motor do you have?
[ion] C2: If I memory serves me well the reflash was just under $80 but, that could differ from stealership to stealership. You got a good price on the kit by the way. Are you looking to switch the pulley?
Mischief007: You have a good and bad news situation. The good news is that since you have the eco the S/C is not a M45 but, a M62! Bad new is that I dont believe there is a flash. I know HP Tuners is out for the 2.4 so you should look to go that route. Software is $500 and all you need is a laptop (but you need to do a lot of reading before you dive into tuning). Check it out or if someone know's give us the newsflash.

NoSweat83: Eventually (after forged pistons/rods, new bearings and gaskets). On my FQuick I got somewhat of an order of what I'm getting, so the engine doesn't explode along the way.

Hey whats up Nosweat. for my engine I have the 2.4 liter twin cam. After seeing how much more power the quad 4 puts out it makes me wish I had that engine instead. My current mods are the GM supercharger kit and the K&N warm air intake. Future mods will be the pacesetter header and cat back exhaust. After that I think thats all I'll be doing. My goal is reach 200whp and I believe with those mods I should be able to get there. currently I would guess I'm in the 170ish whp range according to what Ive seen on the j-body site.

I have the same motor as you just a different IDI cover. I am getting ready to switch the pulley and install my MDS ignition. As far as current mods. K&N filter, modified Induction Dynamics cold air intake, RSM 62mm TB, NGK plugs, Casper FPR, Venom fuel rail, Pacesetter header, custom down piping w/ dynomax high flow cat, and Grand AM Borla cat-back exaust.

That's what I thought. Oldsman and I were discussing that during ASS. It looks too much trouble for me though at this point. Probably going to save up for a 3rd of 4th gen F-body now.

Not much different as far as install plus you get a better blower but, the tuning is the issue for you I'm sure. If that is true check out j-body.org and see if anyone can give you more info on doing this.
