they are lying to you , 250 is not corrosion resistant,, 271 is and im in chicago, so iam not goint o ship a product like that
yes you can seal over 250 it will not hurt it it will help it every base needs a sealer i found that using a sealer over 250 made the scratches seem alittle better, plus base coat needs sealer 250 needs it becasue not a corrosion resistant product
so go to a different state, get the 271 and the ncs sealer you will not be disapointed

Do you not wet sand the primer? Why would there be scratches? Don't you wet sand the primer to prep for paint? I know your thinking its a total noob question but I am a noob trying to learn and understand.

Ok then so when you prep the primer for color coat u just scruff it up a bit to help the paint stick or do you just paint right on top of it without doing anything to it? I have been doing A LOT of reading I just have not gotten to the primer, slealer part yet.

ic. So a high build primer is used something like filler and its sanded down then a sealer is put on top of that then the color and then the clear. I can understand that. So then I need a sealer. I will pick that up later. Any one better then others given the paint I am using?

ive heard the 2k sealer is popular round here. but i think they use it as a filler and a sealer since it's sandable. bdyman will proly give ya a better recommendation. im a dupont man

ok here we go, primer filler is applies to be sanded it is also made to fill scratches from teh sand paper, and low spots, you block primer to get the panel straighter then a arrow
primer has to be sanded if it is not nothing will stick to it
thefirst 2 coats of primer shuld be blocked using 120, then re apply 2 more coats, wet sand the primer with 320 then 400 then 600 then 1000 going that route you will have no scratches i have been doing it that way for yr`s and the end result is well worth it
sealer is made not to be sanded it is the fial product before base, if ya have any imperfections in the base let it dry then sand it with some 1200 re apply the base, the ncs sealer is a 2k product most everything out to day is the 2k product
don`t get to confused prepping a car for paint is a long process, every part of the panel should be prepped smooth no shinny spots if ya see any use a red scuff pad
oh ya, if ya sand primer with let`s say 240 then sealer base clear you will see every scratch and it will look like crap so sanding with a finer grit will make sure you have nothing coming back on ya
preping is everything, poopty prep work end result poopty paint

Totaly agree with you PPGNUT... I don't know about you but when you fork out a grand to paint a car I don't cut corners because I'm tired or want to speed things up. I am planing on spending 6 12 hour days preping the car and then 2 days priming and painting. depending on what the tech sheets say I will wait whatever time to wet sand and buff the car. On the 10th day we are going to reinstall all the new interior and go show the car off that night. I will have questions when I am working but till then thank you everyone.. PPGNUT for your help.
