I checked with a few friends at Kadena and I will be able to slide into a Skyline GTR for about what I paid for my Alero. Military definately has some overseas perks. It will cost extra in upgrades to bring it to the states, but I get good pay in Japan.

What are you thinking you will have to upgrade? I'm just wondering, because if you know how to pull an engine and put it back in...then all you have to do is take the engine out, ship it to the U.S. and "reassemble" it here. Then register it as a kit car and you won't have to worry about any emissions upgrades, etc. I work for Nissan North America and I've been thinking of having a Skyline shipped over, and someone told me I could do that instead of changing numerous parts out and upgrades. Anyways, just wanted to let you know about that. Because if you had the tools and knowledge it would be much cheaper to pull the engine and ship it. Well good luck with whatever you decide. Let us know if you do get one, as well as what model. Aight, latR!

BlackJack is outta Killeen, TX (Fort Hood)....but sometimes hang in H-town and Austin vicinity.
Regarding Skylines, they're also available in great numbers out of Australia and England since they are also right-hand drive countries. Last I priced, the average for a '96 GTR/R34 was about 12k British Pounds, equivilating to about 18k USD. That info was as of OCT 04. Cost of shipping to CA was about 800-1,200 USD, and conversion by Motorex cost an average of 5k to 8k USD. Grand total on the low end was about 24k, high end about 30k for that particular example. I was going to do it, but found out about it too close to leaving to come back to the US and couldn't drum up the funds.
Also, to date, no known fix for right hand drive since the turbo banks are located on the left side where the steering assembly would normally go, without MAJOR modification, so better learn how to shift left-handed >8)
