i already have a turbo. but not a built motor or a programable ecu. so i'm waiting until i can buy a new motor and build the shit out of it.
ANNND i fixed the oil problem with the new valve cover.
do you guys always just make assumptions because other peoples alero's aaren't as nice as yours? dammn

People do coilovers, not for looks or to be low, but for autocrossing. They are very stiff and the lower you go, the more stiff they get, but again, they are for the autocross and will give you the "rice bounce"
Smart building a motor for the turbo. You can probably get a used block for dirt cheap. Your going to have to have it machined anyway. I got my bottom end for $100. 160,000 miles on it and ready for the rebuild, once I gather all parts
You asked for ideas and options. I gave you mine, no need to get bent outta shape over it. Sorry I missed the tread you posted about the "eating" oil getting fixed by fixing a leaking valve cover

You will not get the bounce if they are properly built and set up in the car like they are designed to be....

This isn't criticism I'm about to lay on you, it's reality, and hopefully in a constructive manner.
All that above is correct and true. You want looks, bag it. You want true handling performance, properly adjusted coil-overs, bushings, proper stabilizer/sway bars, and strut braces. None of it is cheap when done right.
Performance- Eco's are turbo-friendly, as long as they aren't thrashed before you get started. If it were me, I'd look into dropping in a SS-T with matching computer, boost controller, exhaust, and call it a day.
Money- always do the parts research to decide what needs to go into your build. Then add 150% to get closer to a real dollar figure. This is because we pick and choose what needs to go into it, but always forget about incidentals like that extra fabrication work, or those other parts that weren't mentioned to make things fit correctly, etc.
I'm all for seeing you do some cool stuff with your car, but stop spending on nickel-and-dime stuff like interior paint and seat covers just because that's what you can afford at the time, and start putting your money back for the mods you want to go for in the long run. If you keep wasting it just because you have a little and can buy something now, you'll never save up to get to your goal.
Good luck.

widbyj, you missed the part where i said i don't know about it.
not everyone is a crazy genious with these cars, hense why they join the forum so they can ask questions and what not. so for the inconvenience to you for asking the questions and trying to get info.
as to all others thank you for giving me more info on all this.
i'm trying to get a mix of both on my suspension, between looks and performance. i go down to sandia speedway out here alot and watch all the drifters and occasionally my friends let me try it out in there drift cars. (AE86, s13, 240sx)
and with them the lower they go the better and it looks great. now i don't know if it's the same with the alero but alot of the track cars i've seen are pretty effing low and perform great. i want it mostly for performance but getting the looks is also a great additive to that. correct me if i'm wrong on being low and everything. just all the track cars i've seen had a pretty damn low drop to them. once again, i am no genious with this stuff. don't get the wrong impression.

and to add on to that, i will be fabbing up my own front and rear strut tower braces and also some unibody bracing and subframe bracing.
i have a great arc wleder over here along with a plasma cutter for some nice clean cuts. i will keep you all posted on that and hopefully give out some good idea's to other people

QFT.
If somebody would have said this to me 8 to 10 years ago, I'd have my built motor in the Alero right now

^^ yup
Here's a key formula if you like math:
(FWD) x (hand + BRAKE) < > DR/FT
It never has, it never will.
However, AutoX is another story. We have quite a successful few that are doing pretty well with it.

by the way, if that's your Alero in your avatar, I'm kinda digging the blue/green scheme you got going on.
