both speed and rev limiters cut fuel....on the 4 cylinder at least

All i was and am still saying is that the limiter is on there for a reason..... thats all if they really wanted to limit it they would put it at 70mph

The reason they are limited at a certain speed is based on what the stock tires are rated for. Has nothing to do whether or not the vehicle itself can handle the speed safely.

Because personaly with my car my brakes are overheated already so i wouldnt plan on going that fast without new brakes

They put it there mainly because of the liability of the speed rating on the tires. All that so you can't go faster than the rated speed. On certain cars which had engine combinations that would ONLY come with high speed rated tires (like a friend's '90 GTZ) didn't have the speed limiter. That' particular engine/trans combo in that car only came with Goodyear Eagle VR or GS-C depending on the year. Just like corvettes and such.
