Usually with a STS turbo setup, there is no muffler.

the guy on gagt did do it to his as he planned.. also I have helped with another that was done by a local shop that is also an sts dealer
and yes they make good power when set up properly

I did search, I geuss I failed. lol
I was mostly looking into a way to mount a turbo in a diffrent location, other than behind the engine. I figured if one was mounted @ the back of the car, then you could possably mount a turbo in the fender. It looks like there is plenty of room, it would probably be a PITA and there would be driling required, but I think it would work out well. It would keep engine and intake temps down a bit, and if you opt for vented fenders, would allow for extra cooling for the turbo. I think the benafits would outweaigh the work involved.

btw......if you are going to try this, if you cut out the spare tire well, you get all sort of room in the back underneath the car..........
trust me i know, it's awesome.....
