id like to see what the brushed aluminum would look like on our trim pieces....if it can resemble something very close to chrome id be interested.
FormulaNERD: i would get in on this, but their carbon fiber pattern looks like ass.

Bryce -
What don't they like about the carbon fiber pattern? We have a smaller version and remember it can go over different colors. We do a large volume of aftermarket parts in the carbon fiber pattern 137 that is on our website. Also, we don't have offer a chrome finish at this time. That is a completely different process we will offer in the next few months and is more expensive.
You're idea sounds good. Let me know when the list is complete and we can revisit the pricing at that time.

I think it is random depending how it is dipped.
|
there's nothing random to it.
they stick a sheet of the CF in plastic/vinyl form into the liquid, then they stick your piece in there, and a chemical reaction sticks the sheet to your plastic. and then they trim any excess that needs to be trimmed.
the pieces i have now were professionally WTP'd and i wish i could find the company that did them.

formula......get a couple close up shots of yours and we will see if she can match it!
We have a few different carbon fiber patterns, but because they aren't requested often we don't have pictures of them. If there is something these guys want to try to match and you could send us something to see if we have it that would be great. Otherwise the only thing we can do is sample some plaques in the different carbon fiber patterns and see if it's anything they are looking for. This would take a couple of weeks because our sampling dept. is backed up right now, but at least it's an alternative.
Let me know what you think.

Bryce,
Would we have to send in our stock pieces to get this done? Not sure I want to drive around with those pieces missing for a while.

yes there is....its just cut vinyl....this here is chemically bonded to the plastic.....this is the way that the OEM manufacturers get the simulated dash kits etc.

No he advertises that it is not vinyl actaully but I saw it a while ago and it was for only the newer aleros. I emailed him and he said it was a dip like what you are talking about us group buying.

all of the aleros have the same dash....the only interior difference would be 2 door vs 4 door....
you would still have to send your pieces to get them dipped.

Yeah but what do the 2003 and 2004's look like? I believe the replacements he had are for the 2003 and they defenitly looked different. He doesnt have anything on ebay currently so I have no way to tell exactly.

they have other patterns avail.... asked her to send me some pics of them.... the dash pieces are not that large, might cost a couple bucks for each vent or something....i really dont know...thats why we need to get a big list of interested so i can present her with a lot of business and get em done dirt cheap.
|
completely agree...and I like the idea of dipping better than a kit anyways....Thanks AnderbrA

i'm thinking about it, but i'd have to get a set of spare ones from a junkyard, then send those. but i'd also have to get a figurative price for a center console.(around radio part)

the only definative answer i can give you as a price is less than 30 cents per square inch....they cannot give me an exact cost until i send them a set. i am going to do that after i round up enough orders to make it worth it.....I am only going to do it if its less than $150 for all of the pieces...
