Its nice, I think the leather seats are a little cheap feeling, but I am comparing them to my 07 Silverado LTZ so I guess you get what you pay for...I would love to keep my alero put away more often but if I do all I will have to drive is my truck and thats definitely not economical in an Obama economy!

politics out of it the whole fuel thing is ridiculous period and something needs done about price gouging. Here while the hidden stations were still going down all the gas stations near well traveled areas went up around $.20 a gallon for the holiday. This is pathetic and needs to be fixed.

i know it is complete bs that it can go down in the market while going up just because people have somewhere to get so it is known that the prices will be paid...unleaded gas market price is now below $2.75 a gallon while the national average is $3.43 a gallon and probably won't drop too much more if it drops at all regardless of the market price changes. If the market price goes up $.05 you could be darn sure that prices would jump at least a quarter.

It still is for the most part. Sadly we're stuck on 3.30. I've noticed that the "run down" looking gas stations have cheaper fuel than the spiffy looking ones with the LED prices and everything. There's this Sunoco in Temple Hills, MD that looks abandoned but it sells the cheapest gas in the area. 3.25 a gallon, whereas other places in the DMV area sell for an average of 3.40.
Back on topic though, I wish I had a final 500. Olds really got a better farewell than Pontiac did. IIRC, the last car sold as a Pontiac was the Vibe
Plus I love that plum color.

I just found an article claiming that prices will be rising because even though the oil market is currently overstocked, and neither israel or palestine produces much oil, they think the fighting could spread to the rest of the middle east. They sure do use every possible senario for raising prices. I haven't ever heard them say something like "we predict that such and such event will cause surplus of oil so you can expect prices to go down"

Mopar Plum Crazy then! LMAOOOOOO
Regardless, the point is the same. It's a rare color. When's the last time you saw a Dark Cherry Olds? I've seen that color on Impalas before but not on an Alero.

I dont want to turn this into a political thing either, but I will say the manipulation of the free market through the Federal Reserve implementing Quantatative Easing unlimited times is a big reason why gas is so high, and why everything is inflated honestly. Back before the Fed was created in 1913, and when we had a gold standard, we had literally no inflation. The "free market" decided who went bankrupt etc, instead of an unconstiutional central bank.
Anyways back on topic...my girlfriend makes fun of me for having a purple car, but for real, its one of a kind and only 500 Aleros in the world have the same color so thats awesome...and Oldsnut, for some reason your car looks darker than mine in your signature, is it just the way the picture was taken since its on grass and all or what?

Cleared Corners and color matched also. I also have one of the sets of OSV wheels on it.
Mine looks darker in that shot because there was no sunshine on the day the pix was taken. When it is sunny I get all kinds of compliments.

Long before the Fed we got to where we didn't have enough gold to back all of the money that was had. There were several times when there ended up being an array of different notes and your money wasn't good everywhere. There were many attempts to fix this, and during that time there were frequent panics when everyone would rush to the bank to get their money. The Fed was established in order to have a centralized currency as well as to insure people that their money would be there. Not to say that there haven't been any bank panics since the Fed was started. While it was created for a good purpose, that is not to say that greed and general human nature has not corrupted the fed over time, however you are misinformed about financial stability before the Fed. Throughout all of history no matter where you go there have been good fiscal times and bad fiscal times.

When the Fed prints money to fund the bailouts, such as the $700 billion TARP bailout, that devalues our money...instead we should let businesses fail that have been mismanaged and go through normal bankruptcy instead of using our taxpayer money and putting us even more in debt.

We dont need a gold standard per say, but an eqivalent, to where we have standard to the value of our money. The value of the dollar has dropped 97% since 1913 when the Federal Reserve Act was created. Also, the IRS didnt come into play until then either, but our country did very well in spite of the government not taking care of us.
