What the hell? Someone deleted my post. Seriously what the f*** administrators?
I asked the guy if he was able to turn the crankshaft by hand, it's a 1 1/16" wrench. I asked if the engine blew up or stopped running while he was driving it or if it was something he just noticed one day when he went to go start it, because maybe it's just the starter. He hasn't really given any specifics on what happened so we don't know what's up.

I had a Japser engine put in my Escort once, and it cost $3950, and I thought that was expensive.

Ok so we started tearing into the engine and its just the crank bearings, good news is that I can get the bearings and crank for about $150.00 then i am going to replace sensors as I go first one is the oil sensor that will be done when i replace the bearings and crank.
Little side note wondering how to get an aleromod.com Vinyl for the front window???

WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE lol jokes....Of coarse it's expensive that's Saskatoon Motor Products for ya and of coarse the dollar difference too between countries. I would just go to a wrecker and find an engine for it, it would be cheaper in the long run instead of puttin in that 3.8 but that's my opinion.

That oil light sensor in the head is a dummy light. If that light goes on and says Low Oil, you're already too late. A better rule of thumb EVERYBODY should do regardless of make/year/etc... is at every gas up, check the fluids, belts, battery connections, clean the windows, and check tire pressures.

Just some info for you,
the 2.4 is the replacement to the 2.3L the 2.3 fail in the head crack alot and head gasket would fail alot to....
So the GM engine builders re-did the 2.3 and came up with 2.4L
I agree to stick with 2.3 to 2.3 ect...
Now if you can find a w41 block now that was a racing beast ..
I remember this site had all that was mantapart....
http://www.mantapart.com/
good luck on your build.

mantapart has a lot of stuff, but they're highly UNreputable in service.
The new batch of 2.3L headgaskets that are now on the market, get rid of the issue of headgasket failures.
If someone wanted to build a sweet motor they don't need a 2.3L block, even if it was a w41 block. W41 block is the same as any other 2.3L block of its year. The head isn't any different than a 2.3LHO. The goodies that a person would want from a w41 is the rare red IDI valve cover and the cams. The intake manifold is the same as a 2.3HO, blah blah blah.
