I was wiring systems up while you were watching cartoons...

14 years in this. By no means was that serious. Even the newbiest idiots know enough to laugh at something like mounting amps outside to be "snow cooled" and patenting an idea like that.

Idk man, poeple do crazy things.
14 years thats good, But even if you were wiring up systems
while i was watching thunder cats dosent mean much,
As long as you have common sense and understand Electrical wiring
anybody can hook up a system, buts its the knowledge of knowing
how the amp runs to the speaker and radio, between ohms, and setting the hz, witch alot of people dont understand.

Outta respect, I would like to stick to the topic to this thread,
by all means if you guys wish to continue this thats fine

I agree, you cant just take any speaker to any amp,
Theres alot more to it if your going with a custom system
. If you by a package when speaker and amp are supplied
together it pretty much plug and go not much to set up
besides tuning out in the dash setting. if its custom
you gotta make sure you running the right ohms nd the watts are correct
other wise the amp is gonna burn out, or cut off
its not rocket science. and its always good to go with a capaciter
and run a seperate battery depending how much shit you have tapped into
the power wires, other wise your gonna be drawing alot of power out of your battery thats running your car, thats where the diming of the lights come in
drawing that power

God i miss my system, it had gotten stolen a month after i got it
I had 2 12' AudioBahn AW1206T Flame Q series subs, with a 1500HCJ AudioBahn amp
ran em with 4ohms mono parallel setup, since its a duel voice coil, and that shit thumped
but that was the last one i will ever get, now in my alero i replaced stock speakers with polk audios

you should probably stop...seeing as you are just stating some really basic facts, and sounds to me bringing up topics you know nothing about...explain what a capacitor actually is, and how it functions, then tell me what you believe ohms are...not saying this to be a rooster, but its recommended that you don't post unless you fully understand what you are talking about, otherwise big wigs like ryan and cashdollar will pick you apart

You was wiring last night? lol.

Please start using the word "impedance" and not "ohms". Because I read the impedance of a driver in ohms....

Anyway..... we all know the best place to keep an amp is on your lap, that way you know for sure if it's over heating or not.

Who's got the biggest penis now!

First off i didn't start a post talking about something I don't know
get your fact right.
second why ? my knowledge, dude im 25 im sure I know the more than just the basic and know how things work, otherwise I wouldnt be posting up shit, cause I would just sound stupid, but theres nothing I put down that was wrong. and your making it sound like I dont know what im talking about.
whats a capacitor? it's basically power storages in the car, and accumulate power whenever it is not required. This power is released when the demand for power exceeds the supply in your car. and also necessary to supplement the regular power supply of the car in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the amplifier, my opinion use a seperate battery for the supplement. so like i said If you car lights dim when your system produces a deep bass note, then your amp will be greatly helped with a car audio capacitor.

As for ohms,
All speakers produce a certain amount of resistance which is what we call ohms. Think of it this way Think of a water faucet. Open the faucet all the way more water comes out slightly close the faucet and the water will flow slowly or trickle persay. So lets use the water as an example of the flow of electricity(voltage and/or amps). And the faucet's valve that controls the flow is the speakers ohms(resistance). A speaker at 1 ohm would represent the water faucet being opened or turn up at the maxium or high level which a large amount of water would be flowing. The large amount of water would also represent the amount of power/wattage.Now a speaker that is 8 ohms would represent the valve turned down to a minimum level creating a smaller flow of water or "power" flowing

anything else just ask

lol you act like you are trying to educate me...i asked to make sure you were aware, nice analogy but that just doesn't cut it...and yes maybe your information was correct your post above this last one, but its basic shit that a 14 year old could understand...whats aggravating is that you are trying to teach stuff you clearly don't FULLY understand yourself

OMFG 03Sleepr. You da man.

And as far as capacitors, just effing don't use them. Seriously. This topic has been debated millions of times and continues because people are to ignorant to actually look up the facts. VERY LITTLE of the capacitor use in a typical car audio application is opinion. /rant
