Pff they chose those headlights because they can be found cheap on ebay...

the plant must have been like we need a place to put all these headlights when oldsmobile closes its doors. UPS was like we will take them all

Not to revive an old thread or anything...

I have seen a few of these UPS trucking driving around and thought the headlights looked familiar but I didn't think they were the actual Alero headlights.

I was going to post a thread about them but luckily my searching skills saved me!

From what I've seen of these trucks, at least around here, the ones with the alero headlights are propane powered... the diesel and fuel trucks are still the old round lights

there is at least one of these trucks in the Kalamazoo area, I keep seeing it on my way to work but either the truck or I am on the move so I can't get a good look at it. but this thread has me looking at every UPS truck I see now.

Those are all over the place in Detroit Metro area... I thought it was common knowledge they were Alero lights? Anyways, the way those vehicles work: UPS says hey! we need more trucks and buys the cheapest but reliable ones they find (that's why there are many styles of their transporters and none really look like other models). The company that made these ones might have had access to the old molds for Alero lights and just used that, but they are mostly diesel, although I have seen some that also run on gas and propane.
