that downhill thing....you *could* pop it into neutral it it's a big hill, and put it back into drive towards the bottom...still dangerous though.

Ya that one I've heard and is pretty funny. At idle, the injectors are so very hardly even doing anything it's not worth it. Starting it dumps more fuel in that you would idling forever and puts more wear on the car from starting/stopping over and over.

When I searched the internet to see if headers would increase MPG, I really cound't find any good info on it. And the info I found suggested that it does not change gas mileage. Having said that, if I ever need to change mine out, I'm getting the stainless steel ones for my Escort.
