i didn't have any issues with the head gaskets, my only problem was it would randomly blow the ignition fuse, had poor brakes because who ever pdi'd my car when i bought it didn't do a good job, they only checked the passenger side not driver's..turns out my front caliper had a stripped bolt, and the rear was junk..blew the wheel cylinder within the first couple of days of owning it..oh and the oil drain plug stripped too...i got a new plug and an oil change for less then 10 bucks after i had a leak when i left work..it had the 2.4, and the odd thing was i was able to hear EVERYTHING through the steering column..do you know if thats common? oh and towards the end of my ownership, the power steering would get very hard to turn, like the fluid was frozen or something..it did it in the winter, then it never stopped..until i got rid of it..

I had a problem with the brakes as well, it keep cutting groves in the rotors, other then that though and the head gaskets thats the only problem I had. I don't think that the steering column thing is common however if you are just wondering you could check to see if there were any service bulletins. That reminds me I also had to get a shift interlock cable because the car I had didn't have one, and you could shift it in and out of gear anytime. But thats it.
