Hey just curious if anyone else out there has a problem with their rotors rusting up quickly when ever it rains or they wash their car. I've never noticed a problem with my previous cars but since I got the Alero (01 GLS coupe with 4 wheel disc) everytime they come in contact with water they rust up almost immediatley like they've been sitting out for weeks if not months. It usually gets rubbed away after a couple of blocks of driving but until it does the pedal feels really coarse when I apply the brakes. Any input would be appreciated.

My RSM slotted rotors do the same thing, as did my stockers. It's just the fact that the brake rotor surface is open metal that is consistently losing it's outer surface everytime you brake. It's nothing to worry about. My rotors have rusted on every car I've owned.

Yes, they will rust, what I've done is spray painted the outer & inner part of the rotor with paint specially made for the rotors & calipers. If you use normal paint, the heat will flake it off. Pep Boys sells it.
