well went out to go places today and the car wouldnt start, jumped it and took it to the local GM dealer to check it out, been having problems with it starting smoothly lately...probably gonna be the battery but hopefully its the starter so i didnt waste money on the diagnostic, but either way its time to upgrade the battery to one of the optimas, recommendations on which is best for me to get? red, blue, or yellow top? ive got a 1600watt system alongside a carputer going in soon, and some neons, along with a new car alarm which seems to be hooked up wrong cause at times it seems the battery is a bit drained when i started it...either way i should know in the morning, suggestions on a battery please?

Yeller top is the way to go. Red top is mostly for larger vehicles or offroading trucks. And if I remember correctly blue top if aquatic. I have a yellow top and my car starts on the first turn every time. Not to mention that my lights never dim with my stereo.

I got mine for $140 since I work at Oreilly Autoparts. But yeah, they're about $180 regular price.

well suprisingly it was only the battery, amazing what a battery going dead can do to a car, including messing w/ the alternator and starter...just blows i paid $45 for the diagnostic but i guess its $45 for peace of mind that everything is AOK on the car.

LOL yeah

you coulda ended up changing the starter thinging that was the problem and dropped 200 bucks into the car when all it was is the battery.

ohwell thats still cheap. 45 is not bad for labour, I had GM charge me 130 bucks to tell me what i already knew was wrong when I just wanted a quote on what it would cost to get it fixed.....
