another quick question
alright so im installing a deck with a wire harness adaptor, both the harness and the stereo wires have a ground wire, which one do i ground?

should be as simple as matching colors up if you have the harness, the fatory harness already has a ground in it so just connect them together

Oh.. then the harness you bought is 100% plug and play without needing a chime kit.. this is good. Just match the wires on the harness with the wires on the plug for the head unit and connect them together.. Soldering and heat-shrink did the trick for me.

Easy just put the together and ground them i had the same on my Hu and harness

It's been a while. Does the 99 Alero need the chime kit? Or is it plug and play too?

Absolutely. Just changed out the stock HU in my 1999, so I was able to verify this myself. Will post a picture of it sometime.
