SVS - Anti Lock and BRAKE lights...
So, appeared i had a speed sensor issue, svs, anti lock, brake and traction lights all came on and cruise stopped working. I said oh well and kept driving it. Within a few weeks i had a terrible road noise, sounded like a wheel bearing on steroids. I put the car on the hoist and found the driver side wheel barley turned while the pass side spun right up ( also RH bearing was replaced less than a year ago)
I plugged in the new bearing before replacing and found all the lights went away, great. However once i replaced the bearing the lights minus BRAKE came on right away and my cruise worked and the awful noise was gone. Whatever good enough for me. Now this morning on my way into work BRAKE is back on and no cruise, no odd noises etc.
Whats the thought ? Seems like one hell of a coincidence both bearings would fail together, and also odd that initially the new bearing cleared the lights on the dash but with about 10 mins of idle they returned. I had read there is a module of some sort that handles communication from ABS system which can fail ? I'm wondering if this has failed and it just so happens i needed a wheel bearing as well ? I'm guessing the bearing i replaced was original as it still had the old cage style nut and i could barley turn it by hand once off the car.
