2003 Alero headlight restore
Hey everyone. Was driving home late from work the other day and noticed I couldn't see 3 feet in front of the car. So today I picked up a meguiars severe duty headlight restoration kit.
I started by removing the headlights from my car and restoring them on my lap. Found that to be easier than doing them on the car. Plus I got huge hands so I was able to hold the light in one hand and sand with the other. Here are some pics and I have to say I am truly impressed with the results. They are not brand new perfect but pretty damn close.

They sure do Oldsnut and man do did it make a difference
I just went for a night drive. Holy crap what a difference. I can see lol. I can actually see the ditches now. Never could before. It's like going from a stock bulb to a silverstar. I'm tempted to see what a silverstar would do but not sure that I should because of the DRL feature out cars have. They'd burn out to fast.

Nah my Alero isn't worth that much money. It's just a driver. Drive her til she blows then get a truck.

It is a safety issue for any car. Better vision equals less chance of accident which equals less output of cash in the long run.

That is true. I thought maybe about some silverstar bulbs but not sure how long they would past being the car has DRL.

I don't understand how that happens to some cars.... bad plastic, heat, UV exposure or road abrasion?
I have a 2000 alero, the headlights are clear as the day I bought the car.
I thought those restore kits were chemical, not sand paper.
nice job!
