Some questions about 03 alero sound equip.

Bought a 2003 Alero 4 door the other day, and the first thing that stuck out to me that needed an update was the sound system. (Well, besides the A/c at least)
Last time I changed a radio in a car, was 10 years ago, so I'm pretty much a noob.

As far as I can tell, everything is stock. And my first question would be, what are the current specs of the existing system?
The wattage and size of each speaker, and the output of the original headunit?.

The next question I have, is would this unit fit in it's place? http://www.frys.com/product/8831112#detailed
And would I first have to purchase more powerful speakers, to avoid blowing out the old ones?

Lastly, if I was to keep the original unit, and restore it back to it's original functionality, would larger speakers work with it, or is it already maxed out with the current ones that came with it.

Thanks ^^

00redse is an unknown quantity at this point
4x6 speakers in the doors & 6x9's in the back.

Wattage is nothing great from stock speakers. I can't remember the exact specs.

That radio might work. It's a double din. I think only certain year aleros came with the double din opening (I know Grand Ams are this way) Otherwise you need a 1.5 din deck.

Either way you'll need a wiring harness and a trim kit.

I'd replace the deck and speakers all together.

If you're buying locally, and in the phoenix area, check out Rabadi & Sons. They're decent for prices. Fry's is ok too, if you can make them price match.
