I have those and they work great. Had them on my alero's and now my Subaru. Yoko makes great all season tires too.

Never used snow tires on the Alero, but considering them for the Volvo so it's not like a rally car in the snow.

Haven't used snow tires since 1978. Real men know how to handle a car in snow.

Never been stuck and the only accident I ever had was in summer. Drove 50K per year on average as a salesman in Snowy/Icy Chicago. Knowing how to control your vehicle and its limitations is a must.

Only reason i have snow tires is for the insurance discount.... saves 5% per year and when i buy used tires that last me 3 winter's i consider that a win hahaha

I drove my Miata in the snow/ice once and it has Summer performance tires on it. The back end would kick out a little bit if you went too fast when turning as it's RWD, but it was nothing that wasn't easily manageable.
You live in an area that gets a lot more snow than me though so I could see why you would want winter tires for the added traction/peace of mind, but you could still drive on the Summer tires depending on the situation.
