throtle position sensor problems

my 2000 4cyl alero runs great but sometimes sitting at the light, it sounds like it wants to stall. I give it gas n it picks right up without hesitation. Ive even let it do its jitters to see if would actually stall but it doesnt.

I was told its the throtle position sensor n it can be cleaned. where is the sensor located?

Anyone ever do this or change it? whats involved in such a repair.. can it be a DIY project?

thanks
Paul

I would be looking for vacuum leaks before I touched the TPS.
