Can I use a MN5 trans in place of a MN4

I got a 2.4 LD9 Alero I want to put a LA1 trans in? I think the FDRs are the same, does anyone know if this is a direct swap?

3500Alero is on a distinguished road
3400 trans has a different bell housing pattern than the 2.4l. So no it will not work.

I could have made it work if I cut part of the bellhousing out for a recess area for the starter, but its not worth it also it would look incredibly hacked. It would be easier just to swap internals. Thanks for the response 3500
