CV axle question
Used search, didn't come up.
I started hearing the dreaded clicking noise when turning. I have the procedure handy, just need to get the right axle dimensions. What are they?
Autozone has one listed, which is 34ib spline, 30ob spline, compressed length of 21". Rockauto has the same size listed, and I can't get specific info from the dealer parts dept.
If this is the correct size, I'll go with the one from Autozone, since with the shipping charges from rockauto, it'll cost about the same.

Are you sure it's the half shaft or CV, could be a hub

The hubs haven't been on there a year, so I doubt it's either of them.

A hub can go bad in a week... just cuz it hasn't been a year doesn't mean anything...
It could be a strut mount as well that is shot...

Unknown miles on axles, already ordered the strut mounts.
I just need to know the specs on the axles so I can get the right ones.

if autozone and rockauto have the same size listed, it's probably right
i'd get the one from autozone due to ease of replacement if warranty is needed

I like the Cardone's. Cheap, take a pounding and have never seen one throw grease!... unlike the OE ones... those are crap and 5 times the price!

i had a similar issue on the 2.2L, i thought it was the CV axle so i bought both CV axles and had them swapped out. THE NOISE DIDNT STOP.
long story short, my right front shock had a busted swaybar mount.
