New subs are comming Monday

Hey all,

So the Tantric's will be here Monday. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for the trunk lid. I have it deadened but still get a little rattle right where the rear of the lid meets the glass . If I put my hand on it it stops so not horrible. Being that I' am going to be putting about 2k more watts thru it I imagine this is going to get ALOT worse lol. I saw someone put some stripping on the interior how could I go about that without losing water tightness?

I never really had any issue with rattle there after the trunk lid was deadened completely.

rattle

Here are two pics of the area I think is the issue. The 1st one has the black strip across the back of the trunk lid. I' am thinking where that seals is the issue any thoughts? Video of the sound is uploading it's with the windows up doors closed to create a good seal so should give you a good idea. I have no license plate rattle or rattle on that edge of the trunk at all it's all on top close to the window.

Lol, I don't even have that rubber part on the trunk lid.

I did deaden more of the lid though, may have made the difference.

Maybe throw an extra layer of deadener on the problem area?

Yeah that's what I' am thinking is the easiest to start at then go from there. Might go with something here if that doesn't work...

So got the subs now just deciding on amp and getting box ready probably end of December. Going to se if SQ or American Bass have a Black Friday ale. Toss up between the AB 4480.1D or the SQ 2200D. the AB is about $150 cheaper but don't know a whole lot about that one. Trying to get info.

Gotta throw on another layer of Deadener just trying to decide whether to go Kunkonceptz CLD tiles or just a whole layer of Kolossus.

nice choice on sub :o im going with 2 15" SHDs when i get back stateside as for your rattle problem. expando foam was my best friend. and SQ is good but they are power hungry so hopefully you have an upgraded electrical. you ever look into ampere or crescendo amps?

Yeah I looked into everything below $500. It was between the VFL 120.1 and the SoundQuebed probably going SoundQuebed 2200D. Yes, I have 0 gauge everything including big 3 and am going with a singer 320.

That stripping hasn't given me a problem at all. Looks clean too. Snow hail high winds rain, no problem. And still no rattle at least there. Nice subs btw. How do they compare to the similar Soundqubed model
