With mine, I went with the idea "end of year, end of daytime". Darkness behind, light ahead. Also takes from the name Alero. Means " promise of the land ", as if to say there's promise on the road ahead. At least to me.

I wish I had a nice scene like that nearby. That or at least a professional camera so I could get better quality pictures than a phone can take

Thanks.
It's weird. Out for 2 hours shooting pics and pulled up, jumped out, snapped 2 quick ones, and they are the best. Always happens that way

I can take pics of the car in a hood but I don't even have an Alero so this point is moot.

Better lighting, wheel turned the other way, and for this something more in the backround.

yep
it's less about what equipment you're using and more about your ability to put together a good scene

This was the best I could do this month. If my work schedule wasn't as tight, I could have gotten a better shot during the day.

I work 12 hours a day, sometimes 6 days a week. I also work 2nd shift. Sometimes, lke today, I sleep until 1pm.
I still have time to do stuff, including taking pics of the car. Plus you can spend as much as you want on a camera, it's not going to set-up the shot for you. My AOTM pic was taken with a Cannon Digital Camera with a lower megapixle rating than my iPhone 6

Including drive time, I work an average of 15 hours on night shift, sometimes more, sometimes only getting 4 hours of sleep. It's pretty much wake up, eat quick and hit the road, and getting home, shower, eat and bed.
Plus, there are things I take care of on the weekend. Some are obligations, others optional to make some extra cash.
Oh well, maybe next month I can get a better shot. We should be switching to day shift before then.

15 hours a day or a week?
Something isn't adding up. Unless you have a real crappy job making $7.25/hr, you shouldn't have to work on the weekends for extra cash if you are working 15 hours a night.
15 hours a day, 5 days a week= 75 hours a week. (which I also do, but over 6 days)
So assuming $7.25 hr, times 40 hours is $290 gross, plus overtime pay of $10.875 hour, time 35 hours is an extra $380.63. so the total is $670.62 in which I can pay my mortgage, car note, all bills and utilities and still have play money

Average. Not every night do I work 15 hours, some nights I work as little as 10. I don't get paid for drive time.
Phone bill, rent, car insurance, food and drink for the week (I go cheap with that, bread meat and cheese and some canned stuff I get from dollar general that I take to work). I also have some bills I won't mention here.
It's enough for me to live pretty easily, and only very rarely do I need to borrow any money. I'm not exactly rich as Croesus, but I'm okay. Timing my aotm shots can be a little aggravating, but when we go to day shift, I should be able to get better shots.

Well whatever the case, you know way in advance what each AOTM is going to be. That is why we have the "winner's circle" thread in the AOTM section of the site. They haven't changed in years, and probably not going to, so you have a year to plan the December 2015 AOTM.
But since the pics are going to start to be up around Dec 20th, you could call it a head start on the Janurary AOTM
