Fuel Injector
The question: I need to replace one, is this something I should replace all 6, or is just the one cool? I have the Trailblazer injectors and I bought them used about 4 years, and 30,000 miles ago
The story:
Great way to end the vacation
I'm down the shore with my g/f and son in the Alero and just as soon as I cross the bridge from North Wildwood, NJ, the car starts missing really bad, top speed is 30, SES light is flashing. So I pull over to the side of the road and let the car coast down the bridge (and the SES stops flashing)
Have the car towed to the g/f parents house 2 hours later in Ocean City, NJ (about 24 miles of the tow truck driver yelling at his kid, saying he was going to kick his ass and all sort of things) and the next day I find the #4 header is ice cold when running.
Swap coil packs, plugs, plug wires, and even pick up a new ICM, nothing worked, so I have the car towed home to Philly (90 miles with a different guy) My g/f and son had to take the train from Alantic City because NJ law does not allow for more than one person in the tow truck (other than the driver of course)
I'm texting Cliff on the way home and he tells me to check the injector. Did that today. Yep! there's the problem. Didn't have the tools to fix this down the shore plus no store down there had them anyway.
Car is in the driveway right now, but it's parked. We all made it home safe, which is the most important thing

If you're concerned about your injectors, pull em all out and have them tested if there's a local injector shop in your area. And if they all flow and spray to spec, just replace 1 of them. Might as well invest into checking the set that you have rather than wasting money on a used set that may not spray correctly or new ones that are super expensive.

- one should be fine
- bench testing is about $20 per injector
- if new injectors all around, go bigger to support future power (i've been at 30, 36, 42, 60 lb.. lol and now i need to get 80lb/hr.)

Testing around here is $7 per injector. IF cleaning is required then they charge $20.

So you tested at the injector itself, not just on the wiring harness?

Hmm, what are 30's and 36's out of? Will they fit in the fuel rail and under the upper manifold? What is the flow rate I put in with HP Tuners? (my 28's I think are at 26.7)
This is the cam I'm building around (I already have it in my garage)
http://wot-tech.com/shop/gm-60v6/str.../prod_242.html
and the specs are:
- 259/265 adv duration
- .506"/.506" lift
- 113 LSA
currently, I'm running a stock cam

The 36's are from the gtp... I put them in my new motor just to be on the safer side.... iirc they work fine in the 99-00 but need wiring harness adaptors for 01+... slight modification to the brackets are needed as well... I bought mine as a kit from milzy but I'm sure Ben would have all that info as well.... since I know you're a WOT> milzy guy lol

I was just looking at both WOTTech and Milzy.
By any chance is the 99 fuel rail swappable? What is involved with swapping in the old sytle pigtails? (other than the strip and splice)
Just not too sure I want to do a splice like that near fuel lines

I'm not sure the fuel rail is swappable due to the small differences in the lim/uim when they were redesigned for 2000+... as for the wiring, many people have done it without issue, so I wouldn't be too concerned.... just do it properly not half assed like some people do lol!

Upon futher research, the 28 lbs injectors are pretty well maxed out at 300 horse on a NA engine, so I'm just going to stick with them.
I have Delphis in there now, PN 25313185
