Yea, 1200Kms to a tank, record to date.. 1321kms from pump to pump! lol I have no idea what I would get if I could just take it out on the highway and go a full tank, probably close to 1400 I'd imagine. To add, 375 to 425k to a tank in the Grand Am, modded, and I get around 475 to a tank out of the Trans Am WS6...

After doing a little research i think you should try and hunt down a 98 aurora...they upgraded the brakes/suspension between 97-98. Bigger brakes, aluminum control arms and ball joints, internal rebound springs in the front struts. These cars are BAD ASS.....i can't wait till i have some money cause i'm DEF getting a 98. There are some NICE ones (some overpriced) but shoooot....i think i might pay a little more for this one....MINT....

Back at 2006 when I was "rich" (I have couple of small businesses go bust), I had a new Toyota Avensis (about camry sized) 2.2 diesel, 147hp, 229 lb-ft torque, 9sec 0-60, but it still made about 50mpg on highway. I had a guy visiting me from Florida and he though I was BULLSHITTING him when I showed him mpg numbers on car computer
Peugeot just started selling a Jetta sized budget sedan called 301 here that averages with 1.6 diesel 63mpg on highway and 49 in the city. And local car journalist confirmed those numbers after test drive (often factory mpg numbers are not real)
Beat that...

You are right, if you compare it to electric cars, then you technically get unlimited MPG while in electric mode and no fuel driven car can beat that, not even a fuel driven model car.
But if you also consider the purchase price, then Peugeot 301 and Volt are in completely different leagues. Good luck with driving even the $41000 price difference and added insurance premium, which I didn't bother to calculate, in electric mode!
Chevy Volt, sold as Opel Ampera here is $58,000, Peugeot 301, which is budget car for emerging economies, starts $16900.
Some companies consider my country as emerging economy, some don't, I guess the truth is somewhere inbetween.
I test drove all-electric Nissan Leaf lately, that was rather cool experience. My country offers VERY geneorus subsidy for all-electric cars - $25000 for reducing Leaf's $53000 price almost by half, which makes the deal somewhat considerable...
Admin can you split the thread as it has gotten interesting but offtopic for OP?

in my wadding for the electric vs gas debate, for me, I have not seen any concrete evidence on how long it takes to charge the electric cars etc. but what would be the cost comparison of hydro vs gas from empty to empty, charge or gas... hydro rates here are not going down any time soon, so it would be an area to research for sure... I would hazard a guess that it is not even a close comparison, but again, I have not looked into it... I much prefer my 3 alero's

The biggest crack I have at electric cars, is that the stuff for the batteries is bad for the environment and that a large amount of the electricity used to charge them is still produced by fossil fuels

looking at a 06 G6 GT coupe. my friend owns it and will give it to me. i wil take over payments, but they will only be 245/month for another 36 months. its no sedan but its another 60 degree v6 car and its the replacment for the n-body plus i know from first hand experience that the 3.5l will last for ever. my parents have a g6 sedan with 200k onit and rising. and they have never done anything but oil changes and spark plugs.

The prius battery can fully explode a prius if rigged wrong. No thanks. I think think the prius would be sweet with a ls6
