Why not the F23? Its apparently an easier swap, more readily available and you'll be able to find lower mileage units because they're more recently made than the 282

My car will never be done. I can tell you for sure that my built motor won't be going in for at least two years. I have other priorities like family and finishing school. I will however finish the 5 speed swap this year and then concentrate on getting the whipple hooked up on the stock motor. Then i'll pretty much be content with that until I graduate school......

Sorry to bump a old thread. But just doing research. Has anybody figured out on the cv axels. Will the 2.4 GA axels fit. Or will there have to be custom built

Well no.. The title says 5 speed not 6 and everything here pertains to putting a 5 speed getrag into a 3x00 n-body... Theres a list of required parts on Milzy's site for the 6 speed swap.
I still think a 5 speed would be better for drag racing.. The F23 may not be as reliable as the F40 for a V6, but when its comes to drag racing, the general consensus is the less gears, the better.

I disagree, automatic is the obvious choice for drag racing.....
I'm swapping to a 5 speed simply for fun.......

Future mods are going turbo charged, paint, new exhaust system, converting rear brakes to discs, and hopefully a 6-speed tranny swap. Not exactly in that order.
