Header Install

I am thinking of buying a set of pacesetter headers with my taxes this year (i know I know). But before I make the final desicion to buy them I was wondering if anyone has a set on their car? Reason being is I will be installing them in my driveway with basic tools. Does the kit bolt right up to my factory down pipe/ heads without any modification? If it doesn't, probably won't be buying them! Thanks Guys!

i have them and yes its so simple. but the only thing you have to be careful of breaking your header bolts and half of it being stuck inside

he has the 3400 not the 2.2. But never the less just take your time. spray some pb blaster on the head bolts to loosen them up. Well all you need is sockets, socket wrench, torque wrench jack, jack stands. do you have air tools like a air ratchet. That is what i used to help my buddy to install headers in a v6 avenger.

yeah i got a set too but probably not after march 1st. it takes a good while to change. i have two bolts that broke inside the head on me. once is fixed kinda, and the other isnt. been broke for about a month now. the back header you cant get in from the bottom, its close but i tried so i just took the bolts off the alternator and just pull it toward the front of the car then you can drop it in from the top

I have a magnaflow 2.25 system on my car now and I like that the rumble is mellow, is it going to make it much louder? And will I be feeling a power difference? So basiclly I will be soaking all bolts overnight with PB blaster! LOL. Had to do the same thing when I lifted the wife's Kia.

no not all night it takes like 2-5 mins for pb blaster to start penitrating. id hose it down and let it sit for 10 mins. spraying it one good time then letting it sit over night wont really help imo. and yeah usually headers do make it louder. the rumble you have now might be gone after the install. and i can tell that my car breathes better with them.

i used PB plaster just about everyday for a year when i worked at the body shop. You DO NOT need to soak it overnight....10-15 min at most....it works quick. That stuff saved me so much time Good luck on the install.

Ummmm, just get them. If it doesn't interfear with regular monthly bills and if it's not going to affect money needed for kids.

That's what I did, but then again, I am divorced (well soon to be, it's only been 27 months since filling )

ANyway, it's been a while since I did them, but I did just fix a header leak (gasket) and I found a small 1/4 drive socket wrench gets in there good. (head bolts)
