I think it's possible. I know the 4t45e has the same bellhousing pattern as the 4t65e. and I think the 4t40 is the same as the 45. I would wait until a ld9 guy can confirm.
I know that the 45 can handle the same if not more than the 65, so it's not worth it. The tranny will bolt up to the engine, then programing has to be done with HPTuners. That's the easy part. It's all the fab work involved with the body and engine cradle that's a real headache
