Lost reverse on 5sp.mt. easy fix

Hi all,
Yesterday I lost reverse all of a sudden.
This morning, I removed the console to take a look.
It was the ignition safety (key only removeable on reverse)
that was out of its guide. Just took it out, works great.
the loose guide was keeping the shifter from getting
to reverse position. And now I can remove my key anyway I want
Hope it helps someone,
regards,
Robert

It's amazing that a 25 cent piece can cause so much trouble

hmmm... I disconnected mine for the short throw. The plastic cover for the ignition should say PUT ON REV TO TAKE OFF, something similar. Im almost positive they all have them.

That's odd I'll have to check it out, maybe the previous owner disconnected mine...

Mine got messed up like a year or so ago. The dealer replaced the whole shifter.
