i have a pair of 12 inch type rs in my car with 2 alpine mrd500 amps, 500 rms each, and i love them!! ive had them over a year and i couldnt be happier, it produces very clear and yet loud bass over all ranges but circuit city prices them high 12" type r 2 ohm for 145 I ordered from this site and they were very good to deal with, shipping took 1-2 weeks but with the kind of money saved it was worth it, type r subs were 250 when i got mine but this site still charged 145. S&H might even it out but check it out. Good choice, alpine is a quality brand and ive never had a problem with them!!

Alpine R's? The only time I ever heard them was a pair of 12's in a ported box with 250 watts rms to each and it SLAMMED. If I had the cash, i'd buy'm.

i just noticed that there is free shipping, good deal for u!! and make sure u dont under power them, they can handle more than the 100-300 rms range, ive been pushing 500 rms to each of mine for over a year and no issues have come up!! if ur gonna buy 2 spend a little extra and buy the type x, one 12 x would demolish 2 12 type r's but they are both great subs, enjoy em i still do!!!

Rockford amps are real nice, the new line of amps anyway. I dont know much about their subs, although for the prices they better be good. Only thing u can really go wrong with are a couple of those real cheap brands offered at Best Buy and Circuit City, i forget what there called.

i really dont like rockford subs, i am a SQ type of listener, i have every kind of music so i like a sub that can reproduce all of those sounds, hence the Type R,s i dont know much about the amps from what i have heard they are not bad but in my opinion the subs have a "dirty" sound to them and seem to blend most notes together, but maybe that is just the cheaper versions, like i said make ur own decision u'll be much happier.

I just recently got a rockford fosgate P3 12' dual 4 ohm sub, and i must say, i am rather impressed by the sound quality. The best word to describe this sub is dynamic. I listen to all sorts of different music, and this sub performs admirably for any occasion. It hits hard, but only when its supposed to hit hard. I have my crossover set at 80hz, and i cant tell when my regular speakers stop and the sub starts, so to speak. Of course, i can turn this thing up, which in turn causes my vision to blur....and thats in the front seat!
