Last weekend I decided to give snow rallying a try and since I wasn't planning to kill my 8 anytime soon I decided to take the Alero. Found a pair of old snow tires put them on the front with a pair of all season on the back (I wasn't thinking of being fast or anything just surviving). This was in Hemlock BC, a very nice ski resort with a frozen 1 hour long wavy road. The drive up and down was a lot of fun with the road being empty and going sideways from time to time
I had every intention of racing the Alero but my buddy showed up with a $100 beater ($99.72 to be exact since he found 28 cents in it). 90's ford escort GT, no hand brake, no ABS, no horn, no hydraulic steering, no interior... basically a can with a good engine and studded tires... it was a lot of fun... I will try rallying the Alero at some point but either on better tires or just in mud. Here are some pics:
