Bluetooth Signal

I have a bluetooth unit in my truck and pair my iphone to play music but it can sound less clear than the aux input. Is there a way to increase the signal strength?

I heard that 4.1 OS has fixed some issues with bluetooth but I would not mind boosting it somehow either on the unit or the phone. Supposedly BT signal is like WIFI signal. From what I have been reading

they are similar. but BT is normally pretty well locked down, you can't tweak much about it.
