I hear a lot about carbon metallic? brake pads

I saw these on PFYC, are they worth getting. I'm really just looking for something I can pick up locally at an Autozone, Pepboys, Auto performance store. Something good in quality, but at a good cost.

are the original pads worn out in the picture or do these mofos seem a bit big lol, maybe it's just me

Those pads from PFYC are pretty good. I think RSM also sells ceramic pads which throw less dust. On my next brake job, I think I'm going to upgrade to ceramic pads (my wheels get too damn dirty from dust).

autoxzone has ceramic, and carbon metalic...with the carbon metallic its lifetime guarantee, so when ur wear em down, bring the old ones back n BAM, new pads no $$

ceramic only have a 1 year warranty from there.

I was looking at pads at tirerack.com and this disclaimer came up: NOTE: Ceramic pad material is recommended by the vehicle manufacturer and may have been supplied as original equipment. Replacing ceramic brake pads with pads of any other material may result in more brake dust or increased brake-related noise than originally installed pads. So i'm definitely getting me some ceramic pads.

I have Ceramics on my car for over a year now and they are ok. I still get decent brake dust buildup on my wheels to make them all dark and ugly looking, but they do hold up better against fading when im going down a big long hill, or comming off an exit ramp at like 90mph. I wonder if ceramics wear on the rotor harder or anything, cause like clockwork, i have to have my rotors ground down at 6 months, then replaced at another 6 months, then ground down at 6 months, and its basically a 6 month cycle for my rotors, anyone else with ceramics have rotor troubles regularly?
