No Rear Speakers

So now that my car works i've noticed the rear speakers dont function. I looked in the trunk and the drivers side isn't even attached and is aftermarket. It is installed in fail mode. The pass side is stock and good, but no sound.

So, The aftermarket spear has only two connections, factory has four. What to do? Then, what is the best mount setup in your opinion? I'll probably just change both rears to be safe.

Then, is there a way to hook up an amp and light sub to the factory radio?

If your rear speakers have 4-wires to them you probably have the "premium" sound system. One wire pair goes to a woofer and the other to a tweeter. That system has a small amp which may not be working. I don't know if the front speakers would still work if the amp was off or not.

I wonder if both wires get the same amperage? If so i can just connect the two pos. and two neg. together and run then to new aftermarkets right?

So do you have the amp in the trunk behind the carpet on the drivers side?

Don't just hook up both sets of wire! Do you have a voltmeter? , test the speakers to make sure they are even still any good.

For the wires that you want to use, if you have the amp it should be the green and blue wires, on the drivers side blue + green - and on the passenger side green + blue -.

If you have a high pass filter on your head unit I would use it, the stock amp in the car likes to clip anything below 80hz. Plus 6x9s aren't really meant to play anything below 80hz, regardless of what it says it can.

Do that and you will blow the amp.

Replace both back speakers with new ones. Find the factory amp and the proper wires and run one set not both sets...
