2004 A/C delete pulley??

My buddy's putting a new 3.4 in his Beretta, and he has a 2004 3.4 out of an Alero, and it doesn't have the compressor for A/c.. which is OK because he wants an A/C delete pulley anyways.

However, they ran into a problem where the pulley they got fits Alero V6s up to 2003.. and it doesn't fit on their 2004 engine.

Do you guys know of an A/C delete pulley for the 2004 3.4???

Yeh.. I've never dealt with them two, but I guess the 2004 uses a different spacer bracket or some junk like that? But either way the same compressor (or delete kit) still bolts up. *shrug*

Dorman makes the ac pulley deletes. Rockauto probably has them listed too.

Here's what my buddy posted up in the thread about the swap:

Quote:
i think i have it figured out. i took the compressor off the old engine. there was a spacer that goes between the block and the compressor. i put that on the new engine with the bypass pulley and it fits.

i took the old compressor and lined it up with the bypass pulley. it seems to be in the same spot.

have no idea why its not listed for the 04 3400. also confused why it didnt include that spacer either. should have pics tomorrow

see between the block and the delete pulley theres a spacer. I got that off the old engine. put that on then it fit fine

And I reused the original alternator/ bracket to keep that in the same place

The spacer is dependent on the chassis...

The other chassis (w-bodies for example) have that huge bracket for the torque strut going through there, so no spacer.

There's plenty of people that will just use a non-AC belt for something like a cavalier without even needing that pulley setup.
