Yeah Ima hafta do something about the wheels...dunno what yet. Cant afford rims or even the stock rims so I dunno what Im gonna do.
Only paid two grand for it so I can dump some money into it, probably get some new tires this spring, like to have a ground kit by the end of summer. Yeah I wish it had a wing, only thing about the style I dont like (other than the wheel covers).
Goes well in the snow even with bald tires, it reminds me of driving a sports car the way you sit in it. They have big asses on them too I didnt realize, when I back up I gotta crane all the way around and look out the rear LOL

Failed State Inspection today. Needs tires all around, outer tie rod, license plate bulbs and a fog light bulb. Bought everything today (minus the tires), including a set of halogens til I can afford the HIDs. Gonna be fun replacing that tie rod in 20 degree weather, but it could be worse LOL. Wish me luck!

Well, I guess I'm glad they don't have state inspection here in Tennessee, since you failed for a fog light bulb. I mean I can see any other light on the car including the license plate bulb, which you had to buy because I know a guy in Illinois who got a ticket for his being out, but a fog light bulb really? You don't technically even need them, but whatever those people at the state and emissions inspection offices are always looking for a reason to fail your car. It was like the guy went out looked at your car and said yep you fail you need to replace this and this and this and this and it will cost you so and so to have it done and when you have it fixed bring it back and we will see if you pass. They act like it's a fun game for them while people have to sit there and dish out cash just to drive their car for a year. State inspections are stupid and for the most part pointless IMO, but good luck anyway man.

I agree. Whats interesting is the guy at a shop I took it to for exhaust work never said anything about the fog or plate bulbs when i asked him to check it for inspection. But yet I take it to Sears and they tell me I also need those bulbs. No biggie, just a couple bucks, but I thouht "what if my car hadn't had fog lights, then i wouldnt have had to replace them". I used to live in Ohio where they dont have inspections, and as a matter of fact I bought this car from Ohio, hence why it has so many little problems. Tires are gonna be a chunk of change unless I can find some decent used ones, but otherwise its about ready to go. Got almost $3k invested in it and I can't even drive it LOL

i do see the point of having yearly safeties on vehicles. it's good to cheap up on car maintenance. my car would fail terribly at the moment.
fog lights is a little crazy though. i wouldn't fail that
and my car has the license plate bulb out, all the bulbs in the third brake light, and a think one of the stop ones. lol
and i think my suspension is going.
so i'm kinda glad there aren't safeties here. but if there was, my car would be in better shape

I feel your pain man. State inspections would just make it worse for me and if I had lived in West Virginia about 2 months ago I definitely would have failed. I needed new tires like you. My old set was bald and that cost $400 for a new set, but I got name brand that's why. Then, I got a new windshield because mine was cracked all the way across. That was like $275 I think. Then I had to fix my third brake light and get a couple of other little things and it still needs a few things to be fully complete again, but I'm getting there one step at a time. Make sure you check everything though before you take it back even your windshield wipers because you wouldn't want the ahoe at the inspection office to fail you again for something stupid like that and it sounds like they would if they worry about something like a foglight being out.

Ive replaced all the bulbs except for the fog light, too damn cold to be laying on the ground today! I got the tie rod and will install it when the weather breaks. I can't afford the tires for a while though so it looks like I won't be driving my alero for a month or so Oh well, gives me more time to clean it and tweak it I spose

If you take your headlight out you can reach down and swap in the new fog light bulb, so you don't have to lay on the ground
