Sewing Leather
Well i was thinking about making custom leather seats for my car and i have no idea how to sew =/. but reguardless, im always willing to learn and quick to learn. so i was thinking about doing the job myself. i am planning on learning to sew somehow(class, mom, ect..) but anyways has anyone done this before? has anyone sewed leather before and has any need to know basics?

usually, you take a part, and glue the seams, and then stretch it over the back, and staple it in place

ya but im not planning on doing this until i know exactly what im doing, and then using premium leather. obviously i need to take a class or learn from my mom haha, but as soon as i know what im doing im going to use a cheap leather and see how i do with that first

Might I suggest that the skills required to do even a decent job of making 'custom' seat coverings, let alone working with leather, are way beyond learning unless you want a career. Like engine machining work I'd recommend leaving it to pros who have the right tools and training.
Then again I redid the rear deck myself with some padded vinyl...

You could always take apart the cloth cover of the seat, and seperate the different parts, and use that as a pattern. It of course would look like the cloth seat, except made out of leather.
