Train horns?
After seeing Kens thread Im inquiring about train horns.
So let me get this right. For a train horn setup the main components are:
Tank
Compressor
Solenoid Valve
Horns
Or course some tubing and connectors...
Is this something easily pieced together?
What about the E Bay kits? Any of them good?

Already gone was 5 gallon tank fittings air line viar 380 and SMC valve. Needed pressure switch or guage since qusge wasn't included.
Sell you a 5gal tank for cheap though

Compressor, tank, fittings, valve, pressure switch, relay, tubing, fittings, wiring, switch.
My compressor is hooked right to the battery (and a 30 amp fuse), but the relay is powered with the "key on" only. I forget exactly how I hooked everything up.
The switch is on a different circut. Basicly a in and out type deal. One blade goes to the ign on the radio, the other goes back to the valve. That is fused with a 20 amp also

so.... what happens when the compressor is full...and you get nailed in trunk in a bad accident?
won't they insurance people be a little curious as to why the back half of your car is completely gone? (not just crushed in)

The compressor fills the tank. When the tanks get full ( about 150ish psi ) then the compressor shuts off. Its not under alot of pressure so its not like the back half of your car would explode. It would if you were running nitrogen, which would be silly to do if you just had train horns. But I got hit HARD in my s10 with two 5 gallon tanks. Those tanks are so thick that it basically just leaked out all my air in about 2 minutes because it crushed a fitting. I dont think you would need to worry about any explosions though
