Dimmer Wires

Does anyone know what each wire is for behind the dimmer switch? there is a black w/ white stripe, a white, a green, and a yellow. im trying to find the main power to it to use as my power for my new guages.

what do you mean like the one that is connected to the blue clip inside the cluster area? because im trying to tap into the dimmer switch for the power source

Yepp the blue clip on it there's a grey wire I tapped into so my gauges dim with the dimmer switch

Alright thank you. Just a last question. Did your new gauges come with a dimmer switch attatched? Mine has a separate one for the gauges

with it connected they way hein-y is suggesting.. you'll have dual dimmers.

the one on the console will dim the lights and cluster along with the dimmer on the gauges that will dim them separately.

I just want one dimmer is my point. which is why i want the main power wire running to the dimmer that is already in my car..

just turn the cluster dimmer up to full power, and use the main dimmer for the car. no reason to access the other after that

I cut the dimmer it came with out, and wired it directly, no need to keep 2 dimmers
