My dad told me that back in the days before iPods, CDs, and mp3's, they had these things that were called tapes (hope I spelled that right). Well these things held music on them in some way, when you got done listening to it, you had to flip it over and play the other side, is what he said. I asked him why it had two sides and he said cause it would hold more music on it.

I'd trust a properly used one more than brand new; I wouldn't know if the motor was worth it and I'd probably have to change the belt. I've collected about 500 8-tracks, so it wouldn't be *just* a novelty.
