ion is there any kinda negative to having trans fluid for power steering fluid, if not im never wasting money on a bottle ever agian

on my old truck every 4 months or so it needed a dab, but none on this car, but why waste money on a bottle if you have extra trans fluid,
also are there anyother fluids that cross over?

yeah a regular garden hose can fill your crankcase in a pinch instead of oil
Trans fluid isn't meant to be in the power steering. It's a "QUICK FIX" remedy for very temporary use. Like if you're bone dry on fluid and don't want to kill your pump before you get some actual PS fluid in there.

FYI - I once had a small power steering leak in the Daytona and until we were able to fix it my mechanic had me add trans fluid to it. Slightly thicker so it slowed the leak and the steering operated fine.
