popping the hood

how do you open the hood if you don't have access to the inside of the car?

was doign things under the hood and was curious as to how to open it up if i locked my keys inside. then i thought about car bombs and how the hell they wire them up w/out being able to unlatch the hood.

a lot of car bombs simply splice into the fuel pump wiring to power it up...others can be more complicated, like in the ignition itself. but that's another thread, terrorist.

take a hammer and smash pieces of the front bumper out?

long metal wire, and go from underneath?

pick the car up with a crane and shake it until things start falling off/popping open?

take all the wheels off and tap 3 times on the passanger window, then punch the fuel door twice?

the hood latch and the part you will need to get to faces the core support, and it sits on a latch support, and there is a wind deflector between the latch support, and the re-bar

so you would have to cut the wind deflector out the way, remove the bottom bolt on the latch support, and weasle your hand behind the latch to pop the hood,

if ya dont do it you wont have the trouble

once again one of your threads=FAIL

easier to call the cops and have them unlock your door for you. what bdyman said would work, as would breaking your drivers window.

Cops and Fire dept.don't do that here anymore... You have to call a locksmith or invest in AAA once a year... And if you locked your keys in the car why on earth would you be interested in getting under the hood... You're not getting your keys back through the firewall

yeah...just open the window before you start working on the car if you need your keys in there. so if the door locks you can just reach in.

^ yea thats wat we always do at work. but i still did manage to lock the keys for an old caddy in its trunk and the remote pop didn't work or cut keys, so it ended up getting the whole back seat ripped out.

and thats wierd that they don't unlock doors for u anymore. here they still do it for free

obviously i wouldn't be trying to get the keys through the hood. the situation could easily arise when i'm trying to open the hood FIRST, but have not pulled the latch inside and my keys have been left inside and locked. duh.

this thread didn't fail... i had a question and it got answered. when have my other threads failed? bdyman, you seem to answer a bunch of my questions, so surely i'm not failing there...?
