woke up to this....
just like the tittle says, this wasn't a hit and run, and there are no other signs of damage to my car. the mirror was there last night when I got home. I have had kids Vandal my previous car the bad part is they are those "so called friends" that do it. So now I have a new question, what kind of car alarm to get?

im not worried about the mirror, but if they are going to be stealing Mirrors they're likely to be stealing other stuff too.

Just a cheap Bulldog does door and shock detection. I cant remember if Aleros have a light under the hood but if you do it will alarm with the hood opening because it detects a drain on the battery so basically when the door open and the dome light comes on it will start setting of the alarm.

any 2-way alarm with door, shock, glass breakage sensors
most you can add more sensors too like tilt for if it was being jacked up or towed
2-way lets you know remotely, it's the only way to go

Happened to me once,
Stole the glass from both mirrors, one they only had to replace the glass, the other they messed up the housing and they had to replace the entire thing
Cost me $204 at the dealer, which isn't bad considering they painted and installed them. If it wasn't for the paint, I could have done it myself

there not hard to get if you "bump it" pretty good the mirror will pop right out if the mirror is one of those mirrors that has the spring it it to flex alittle.

Get a cheap alarm that lets you add extra shock sensors and just double side tape them in each mirror...and really a good alarm with a sensitive shock sensor should be able to pick that up....I wouldn't recommend python alarms at least the ones with the three button remote...I just recently discovered that there is a flaw in those remotes that causes the tunning crystal to lose connection from the circuit board and not send the correct signal to the brain.

They have proximity alarms that have adjusted sensitivity. My friend has one and it will start a warning beep if you just park a car next to it so if people are messing around close by it should go into full alarm in no time.

I've looked into all types of alarms now I'm just debating between alarm/ remote start combo or just an alarm
