buffing compound opinion

ok this one is for all the people who have tried different compounds when buffing (automotive)

been lookin around i see a few compounds online and they say they are the best but that doesnt mean shit to me unless someone has actually experienced it.

so my question is in your opinion aleromod members what compound have you had the best results with when using foam pads or even wool pads

For the love of god did you just claim that an automated car wash removes swirls? I swear those things are primarily designed to create them. The only way to remove swirl marks is with a random orbital or rotary polisher which is what alero is asking about.

To answer your question the only one I have used is a brand from autogeek.net which I can no longer find. Sorry I can't be of more help. I would suggest checking out autopia.org. There is more info there than you will ever be able to take in or comprehend. The best I can do for you is that I have heard over there that Poor Boy's products are pretty top notch.

Edit: found the stuff. XMT polishes and sealants, made by pinnacle. I chose it because it is pretty forgiving for a beginner rotary user like me, it breaks down well, has very little dust, and wipes pretty cleanly. I does require a little work in time though to get it to break down. Other than that it is good stuff. Around $16 for 16oz. They also have different grades from 1-4 1 being light swirls. You can figure out 2-4 then. That will polish an alero around 8-10 times if you are heavy on it like I am and have a habit of using too much. More if you can work it better than me. Hope I helped.

how in the blistering hell would an automatic car wash remove swirl marks in the clear coat on your car.. do you honestly take me for a flippin' retard?

I use words like "supreme" and crap just to add flavor to the post.. make it more interesting to read.. its not like I was talking about the 6 dollar option at the automatic car wash money machine..

He wants to remove the swirls. That scratch x if applied by hand pretty much just hides them.

I use Swirl by Prima with a Porter Cable RO buffer - works awesome. www.detailersparadise.com is where I get it but they sell it through other places, too.
For not so bad swirls Zaino's Z-PC works well, too. www.zainostore.com.
