Just wondering if people would be interested in adapters to put 5¼" speakers in front. I know people are always asking how to do it, and it is not that hard, but i know some people don't have the time/tools to get it done.

I would probably make them out of 1/2" or 3/4" MDF depending on how much room there is in there to fit it. This would be much better then your typical piece of plastic or super thin piece of metal.

Basically i would cut the shape to fit, cut a hole for the speaker, and holes for mounting it. Drilling holes to mount your speaker would be up to you as they probably don't all line up the same.

Also, cost would be minimal... maybe $15 for a pair + shipping... so around $20 total. Just seeing if there is any interest.

judging by the stock 4x6 mounting piece, those crutchfield units have a good chance of working. They won't be angled up the same way as the stocks and it is hard to tell if they would fit along the bottom. For $20 somebody should give them a shot and let us know.

As far as mine... they would be fairly similar, but made out of MDF instead of plastic. MDF is much more solid (used in home speaker cabinets) when compared to plastic and would be much less likely to vibrate. It will be a little while before i have them made as I no longer have the regular mounting plates in my doors from my 6½'s. I would probably need to have somebody close test fit a pair before i started to make more of them.
