Random shutoff

I cant seem to figure out why my crusie control is doing this and its random.

Driving down the highway with the cruise control engaged it will shut it self off. I have no idea why it is doing it I just have to press the resume accl button and it will enge once more, but its just rather annoying that ill be halfway to work and the cruise will turn off.

any ideas as to why this might be happening or is it a sign that the cruise control it self might be going bad and needs to be replaced?

It's the switch. I had the same issue. All I can tell you is to disassemble and check the connections and the circuit board. Mine worked afterwords.

i don't know if this is helpful, but we had a '95 astro van and the cruise was doing the same thing. turns out that the curise control module was slowly going bad and eventually it quit altogether. try checking the switch and if thats not it, maybe take it to a mechanic or go to a junk yard and change out the module.

turns out that my brake pedal was sagging just a bit and just hitting a bump was enough to set it off tightend my pedal back up seems to have fixed it.
