hey...just wondering if anyone else has had the problem of their sunroof making a grinding sound when going down?also mine has made the noise then got stuck!! it would only move a tiny bit up and down so i kept doing it untill it closed.it finally came free and still works but it would be nice if it worked properly..thanx!

sounds like you might need a new motor actuator (correct me if i'm wrong)...

Bad wire connection I would say, If you have a warranty on it, or just take back to where u purchased your alero, or where your purchused the aftermarket sunroof, and have them take a look, and fix it.

hey thanx for the input! I think i will bring it to the dealer and see what they have to say. actually the sound that best describes whats happening is as if there was gravel in the sun roof track.of course i looked and came up with nothing. so i don't think it's anything to do with wireing but i guess i'll see when I bring it to the chev dealer. thanx again!!!

might be your bearings that slide the sunroof. if you dont keep them oiled is can cause the sunroof to slide offtrack after time. They told me every now n then just to put some grese on the tracks to make sure the sunroof stays working normal...

but if its under warranty make them fix it

Yup, I was gonna say the same thing. Try greasing the track, if it's not under warranty, that is.

yeah unfortunatly it's not under warrenty anymore.I'll give it a shot and let everyone know how the outcome of it is. thanx again!!! :thumbsup:
