may be true in an Alero vs. Miata. However, I'll be willing to go out on a limb and say that even a slightly heavier AWD converted Alero with similar suspension mods will handle better through a course than a plain FWD Alero, just by the weight distribution being closer to balance, and better torque distribution. I'm no stranger to road courses, I raced Willow Springs in California with a M/R Porsche 914 for a couple of years.
